How to find us (by car)

The nearest postcode to us is LL11 3BB but that is a farm house further up the lane and on the opposite side of the lane to the club’s entrance.Or using “what3words”, looked.begun.dragonfly .

Our entrance is the 3rd field gate on the left, from the round-a-bout end of the lane. There should be a NWGC Sign near our gate, pointing into the field. You will see other cars parked ahead of you on the rise, park along side them.

Alternatively, start from Wrexham and the A483. Turn off on to the A525 to Coedpoeth and Ruthin and follow this for about 10 miles passing through Bwlchgwyn and then going past the Llandegla fishery. Continue towards Llandegla village until the crossroads with the A5104 is met and turn left following the signs for Llangollen and the Horseshoe Pass. From Queensferry take A550 and take Corwen Road (A5104) at Pen-y-Ffordd to Llandegla then continue as above. After a short distance you will drive up a hill and come across a small round-a-bout. Proceed straight across it and continue for about 50 yards. There is a fork to the right leading to a single track road. Proceed up this track for about a quarter of a mile and the club is the third gate on the left.

    By Air (unpowered aircraft only)

    The easiest way to identify the site from the air is to locate the Ponderosa Cafe at the Horseshoe Pass which sits between Esclusham Mountain and Llantysilio Mountain. The well-known town of Llangollen is to the south of the Horseshoe Pass and we are located on the hill directly north of the pass. Arriving aircraft should note that there is an airstrip to our immediate north which we do not cross at heights less than 2000ft a.g.l. (note that our site has an elevation of 1050ft a.m.s.l.) The site is non-radio for circuit and aircraft activity information. Note that the club airstrip is grass and has an approximate clear run of 1100 yards with an approximate heading of 060/240. About 1 mile to the northwest of the site is a model aeroplane club which flies remote control models. Please stay clear of this area. At the request of local residents, please do not overfly any farms or private residences at low levels.
